Technical terms and abbreviations

• Academic Field Program - Organised student group activities in each port of call
• Academic stewards - the program content providers responsible for overseeing quality control and assurance
• Core Subject - a required academic subject. Undergraduates are required to take two and postgraduates take one
• Graduate - a person pursuing postgraduate studies
• Independent travel - travel organised by the students themselves during each port of call
• Learning circle - similar to a university department or division which is responsible for overseeing the exploration of interdisciplinary themes during academic study
• Onboard life - any aspect of life on board the Scholarship which excludes academic study
• Post-graduate - Please see "Post Graduate"
• Shore excursion - an organised group tour at each port of call
• Transnational - study aimed at developing the intercultural competencies of students
• TSS - abbreviation for the Scholarship
• Undergraduate - A person who has yet to earn a baccalaureate degree or pertaining to such studies
