Career Pathways

Navigating Your Pathways
You should make career and educational choices based on who you are today, with the knowledge that you can always change the course of your pathway in the future.

Navigating your choices means making the right choices and involves asking questions about your career pathway:

  • What career fields am I interested in?
  • What pathways could I take to lead me to those career fields?
  • Do I need to study a course at a tertiary institution (or private college, TAFE or university) as part of my pathway to the career I am interested in?
  • What are the entry requirements for those institutions?
  • After I finish the course what jobs will I qualify for?
  • Who do I know that can help me?
  • What have I learnt from my life experiences?
  • What resources and networks do I need?
  • How can I utilise the personal networks of family, friends and associates?
