The Mooloolah River National Park adjoins the University’s 100 hectare campus, providing a sanctuary for native flora and fauna in the area. Wild kangaroos reside on campus, and the natural beauty of the campus and surrounding area create a low stress environment conducive to study.
Currently hosting around 3500 students, the University of the Sunshine Coast is 'small and personal' where students benefit from an academic staff qualifications profile which matches the best in Australia. Graduates have rated University of the Sunshine Coast in the top 20 percent Australia wide for quality of education experience, including teaching quality and overall satisfaction.
The three faculties of Arts & Social Sciences, Business and Science offer around 50 programs at Undergraduate, Honours, Masters and Doctoral qualification levels.
We also offer dedicated student accommodation where living, learning and relaxing is made easy with fully self-contained apartments adjoining the campus. Students have their own private bedroom and bathroom, with access to excellent recreational facilities including swimming pools, beach volleyball courts, tennis courts and BBQ areas. Sunshine Coast’s famous beaches Location
Australia’s beautiful Sunshine Coast is in the state of Queensland. The University of the Sunshine Coast is located only one hour by car from both the state capital, Brisbane, and the International Airport. From Brisbane there are train and bus connections to the University.The Sunshine Coast is one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations, with beautiful beaches, rivers and hinterland. It has a pleasant, subtropical climate, which is comfortable all year round. Average summer temperatures range from 17 C to 28 C. Winters are mild and sunny with average temperatures ranging from 7 C to 22 C.
The campus is located approximately 10 kilometres from the Sunshine Coast’s famous beaches. There are regular bus services from the campus to the beaches and major shopping centres.
Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Caloundra and NoosaMajor centres, such as Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Caloundra and Noosa, are between 15 and 40 minutes drive away giving you access to all the Coast has to offer: famous surfing beaches, international cuisine, shopping centres, and nightlife.

Pathways to study at the University of the Sunshine Coast
You can start your study at our English Language Centre, which offers Academic English preparation as part of the Direct Entry English Pathway (DEEP).
With DEEP, if you satisfy the course requirements, you gain direct entry to the University’s degree and Study Abroad programs without doing an external exam, such as TOEFL or IELTS.
The University also has a number of credit transfer arrangements with overseas universities and colleges, as well as TAFE and VET colleges in Australia

Admission Requirements English Language Centre
Our English Language programs are available to all international students looking to improve their English language skills. Our University pathways make studying at our English Language Centre an attractive option for students wanting to study in our undergraduate or postgraduate programs.
Some English Language Centre programs have admission requirements that you must meet before your application can be approved. For example, to study either the Academic English or Cambridge Exam Preparation programs your English must be at or above Intermediate level. Further information on admission requirements can be obtained from the English Language Centre.
Degree programs
The minimum level of education required for entry to undergraduate degree programs is completion of senior secondary school studies, or equivalent, considered to be at a similar level to completion of Australian Year 12 study. Admission is dependent on the standard of your results.

To apply you will need to complete an English Language Centre Application form.

- a current official academic record of all tertiary level and/or senior high school studies undertaken
- a certified translation of any papers that are not in English

We offer our Direct Entry English Pathway for students needing to improve their English before commencing a University of the Sunshine Coast degree program.
We also offer transition courses that are run before Orientation week (usually one or two weeks prior) and during O-week. These include:

Accommodation / Cost
At the University of the Sunshine Coast we have excellent student accommodation located next to the campus. This modern, apartment-style accommodation has been built specially for students.
You share a kitchen and living room with up to 3 other students but have your own private bedroom, shower and toilet, as well as telephone/internet connections.
Facilities include swimming pools, gym, tennis courts and games and barbecue areas, kiosk, as well as internet and university intranet access. There is a shopping centre nearby.
Sharing an apartment is a great way to get to know Australian students and experience Australia, but if you wish to experience life with an Australian family, we can also arrange homestay. When you choose homestay, you live with an Australian family and share their meals and home. It’s an ideal way to improve your English.
Off-campus accommodation in houses or apartments, with other students or on your own, is also an option.

Scholarships and Grants
Individual scholarships or other financial aid to international students is not available at this time.
